Wonderful race experience! It was my first full marathon (along with two of my sisters) and I could not have had a better introduction to racing that distance. It was very well-organized and the volunteers were amazing; it was a cold and windy morning, but there was not a grouchy or sad face around. Judging from this race, Birmingham is a hospitable and friendly city.
However, the were four Gu stops on the first half and then the second half they must have run out or something because there was only one. But there were stations with bananas and oranges which helped tremendously.
Amazing medal and hat as well! I will definitely return to race again next year
