Disney thought only a select few were crazy enough, like me, to enter the goofy challenge but were in for a big surprise.
Note: Ed. Note - History will record that the first true event to recognize and experiment such madness would be the National Capital Race Weekend in Ottawa.
In 2002, yours truly created the "Triple Crown" of endurance, which included running the 10km Saturday evening at 7pm, skating the in-line marathon at 6:50 am Sunday morning, and then completing the 1/2 marathon run soon thereafter. Peter Donato was rewarded with free race entries in the subsequent 2 years, thus establishing a three-peat performance between 2002,2003,2004. History will also record that the 2003 race times of 34:13 in the 10km, 1:44 in the in-line marathon and 1:26:56 in the 1/2 marathon run may never again be equalled.
