International TORONTO. 27th June 2006. Organizers are delighted to report that approval has been received for some minor, yet highly significant course adjustments for this year’s Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon, to be run on the flat, fast, lakeshore course on Sunday, September 24th. Now, there will be more of the scenic, Historic Downtown, St.Lawrence Market neighbourhood for the first few kilometers, and only half the previous distance on the Leslie St. Spit [Tommy Thompson Park] in the second-half of the marathon.

We hit time station #42 last night in Troy , OH . There were periods of heavy rain, but around midnight the waterworks finally stopped and Kevin had a clear night sky to ride under. Bob and Jeff took turns talking to Kevin over the loudspeaker, trying to keep him focused and energized.

International Early this morning, around 5, Kevin briefly stopped for a shake. He’s been hammering the pedals at 18-19-20 mph to reel in the riders ahead of him and burning thousands of calories. We had a team meeting in the back of the bus around making our stops more efficient; we must get Kevin back out on the road as quickly possible.
Note: Go Kevin Go!

It’s like déjà vu all over again. We crossed over a set of railway tracks and found ourselves in a new state. This time it’s Missouri. We’ve left Kansas behind and, with it, most of the wind. The land of Dorothy and Toto delivered gusts that had Kevin’s bike at a 45-degree angle. The wind was absolutely relentless.
Note: Make a donation today and help Kevin raise $250,000!
