Big news keeps pouring in from the tour
Overall leader Michael Rasmussen has been expelled from the Tour de France for violating team policy.
Rasmussen, from Denmark, was removed Wednesday at the request of team sponsor Rabobank, shortly after winning the 16th stage.

TORONTO, July 24th. Kenya's Daniel Rono, and Poland's Malgorzata Sobanska, the defending champions and course record holders of the Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon, have both confirmed that they will return for this year's edition, scheduled to open the Fall marathon season on September 30th.

Doping remained a hot topic at the Tour de France for a second straight day Wednesday as a cyclist failed a test for testosterone, according to a French doping official.

Team Astana pulled out of the 94th Tour de France on Tuesday after one of its riders, Alexandre Vinokourov, tested positive for a banned blood transfusion.
The positive test of the Kazakh rider, a one-time favourite to win cycling's premier event, dealt a heavy blow to a sport already reeling from a spate of doping scandals.

Kitzbühel, Austria - Today in the mountain town of Kitzbühel, Austria, Olympic gold medalist Simon Whitfield of Victoria claimed his second world cup title of the season, ninth of his career, in a dramatic sprint finish with former European Champion Frederic Belaubre of France and 2006 Commonwealth Games champion, Brad Kahlefeldt of Australia.
