Wykes joins Coolsaet and Gillis on the plane to the London Olympics

Great day for Canadian men’s marathon running – Dylan Wykes ran an awesome time of 2:10:47 in Rotterdam, Holland. This is a time well within the qualification time of 2:11:30 and almost 2 minutes faster than his personal best.

After the disappointment of missing the time in Toronto and Japan it shows great resilience by Dylan to make the time at his last attempt.

So now Canada has Coolseat, Gillis and Wykes in the London Olympics men’s marathon – could this be a turning point for Canadian marathon running?

Unfortunately Rob Watson who was also attempting a qualification time missed out but improved on his personal best by close to 3 minutes so a great effort by Rob.

Also Canadian women Krista DuChene and Lanni Marchant agonizingly just missed out on Olympic qualification. They were looking for below 2:29:55 but run 2:32 and 2:31.

They are still tring to renew their’s record.
All people know that it is really difficult to crack a mark.
I hope they’re gonna get good result in London.
