Well depending on your point of view the news of the inaugural Toronto Triathlon Festival will come to some as great news and others as yet more inconvience.
One of Canada’s top triathletes, Simon Whitfield launched the July 22nd event this past Wednesday. Simon will himself be in the 1,000 strong field.
To Toronto and Ontario’s triathlon and sporting community the half-Olympic Triathlon will be a welcome addition to the sporting calendar, however to the Toronto drivers already ‘inconvenienced’ by multiple road closures for marathons and 10Ks in the city it is yet another road closure, this time the Don Valley Parkway.
That said, race organizer Jeff Chong claims that because of the early start traffic problems will be minimal. Hopefully Paul is right and this new event will be a great success.

This sounds like a great event. Should be very impressive seeing 1000 triathletes on the Don Valley Parkway.
I wonder how long before Toronto gets an Ironman?

It is so nice. Actually, In Korea we don’t have many kinds of running events.
I was really surprised. When people have race events, people restricted traffic because of Marathon events.
If I participate the events, It would be really good chance to ride a bike in highway for me.
