One world record is impressive, two is awesome but five takes some doing!
Well that’s what Christa Bortignon achieved at an athletics meet last weekend. Plus she narrowly missed another and was planning to go for the pole vault record but missed her attempt because had to run her relay leg in the 4x200m relay where, yes they broke the world record!

Hello David:
Thanks for the nice comments. I only started track and field two and
1/2 years ago, after seeing Olga Kotelko winning gold medals and setting records at age 90. She suggested that I get a coach. I joined the Greyhound Track club, not quite 2 years ago. Their coach is the best: Harold Morioka. Look what happened to me! I had never done any events as a teenager except
the long jump and the 75 meter sprints. Before breaking world records last weekend, I won 100 medalsin less than two years. It just proves that it is never too late tostart something new, regardless of your age.
Thanks again.

And as if she hasn’t got enough World Records………Christa recently broke 5 more world records at the 2012 USA Masters Track and Field Championships: 60M hurdles, 60 M, 200M, Triple Jump and the Pentathlon.
Quite how she has enough time to break all these records at one meet is beyond me especially considering the pentathlon is 5 separate events!
And Christa heads off to the Master World Championships in Finland the beginning of April where we all at MyNextRace wish her the best.
We will settle for Gold medals Christa, no need for any more records…..you have more than enough of those!
